aquapura douro valley which has been open since the 25th of June 2007 is located in Portugal, on the southern banks of the Douro River, between the flowing waters and the terraced vineyards in a valley that has been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Karin Herzog, aesthetician, participates in the research of the effects of oxygen in the skin developed by her husband Dr Paul Herzog, an Honorary Doctor of the Nobel Institute. This research originated from a double discovery. On one side, he has managed to stabilize oxygen, and to “bind” it in a cream. On the other side, this oxygen remains in liquid form in the emulsion, freeing itself in a form a gas once in contact with the skin thus provoking a pressure that literally injects oxygen into the skin. From this discovery a range of products were created where their astounding effects on the skin have made Karin Herzog so famous. The Thermal Spa

Before a treatment or simply for pleasure and relaxation, the Thermal Spa is one of the most agreeable experiences. In these individual cabins, you can benefit from a range of treatments designed for your well being.

    The Laconium, a gentle, dry heat to purify the body, with only 15 à 20% humidity. It is the ideal way to begin your day of treatments.

    The Sauna, perfect for draining toxins, it is embellished with a clever cocktail of salt and essential oils that gives the skin back all of its softness.

    The herbal sauna with fresh herbs is a marvel for cleansing the skin.

    After the sauna, there are the beneficial showers, where you can experience a true tropical rain shower, mixed with essential oils, soothing the body before total relaxation on the water bed.

    Relaxing bath: Ytsara Serenity is a mixture of jasmine, essential oil of lemon, accompanied by a white wine tasting and chocolate truffles.
    Vinotherap is a bath containing olive oil and grape seeds, all to be enjoyed while tasting a delicious red wine.
